Gonkar Gyatso egy tibeti kortárs művész,  aki  művészetében felkapott képeket kombinál össze Buddhista ikonográfiával. Kínában majd később Indiában folytatta tanulmányait, ahol kapcsolatba tudott lépni a tibeti kultúrával. Pillanatnyilag New Yorkban lakik. A cikk végigköveti a művészeti fejlődését a kezdeti időktől a jelenkorig és bemutatja az aktuális céljait és eredményeit.


Gonkar Gyatso is a Tibetan contemporary artist, who combines pop images with Buddhist iconography in his art. He was educated in China and later on in India, where he was able to get in touch with Tibetan culture. As for today he resides in New York. The article follows through his development as an artist from an early stage and introduces his current goals and achievements.
